Technique
On this page we will explain to you roughly how a single screw compressor works. Also, we shall give you some background information on Mitsui Seiki compressors.
 
How a single screw-compressor works

We added a few pictures in order to explain the principle of a single screw compressor. As you can see there are one main rotor and two gate rotors (view picture 1). The gate rotors are mounted in the opposite direction as to neutralise the forces exercised on the main rotor. When rotor rotation proceeds,the gate rotor teeth-
-move to reduce the volume of the space in the groove, which results in obtaining compressed air (view picture 2). When the rotor further turns until the specified pressure is reached, the compressed air is delivered from the compression chamber into the oil chamber, where separation from oil is performed (view picture 3).
